How to Lookup Any Wyoming License Plate Number
1. Private databases purchase, organize, and sell information to consumers. These databases are run by private companies, not State or Federal government organizations. This is the easiest option for consumers looking for information because it involves the least amount of work.
Our sponsors are an example of a private database that sells information. Simply start your search by typing a license plate number in the search field on the right.
2. Another option is to request the information from the state. For the state of Wyoming, the form you need is located here:

3. One more option is to hire a private investigator. This is the most expensive option, but it could prove useful.

The recovery of license plate records varies by state. In some cases, license plate and driving records may only be accessible by the registered owner of the vehicle. In addition, there may be a fee to access the information.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation is another agency that keeps driving and license plate related records in Wyoming. Contacting this agency, you may find information related to drivers licenses, registrations, renewals, and more.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation recently updated their website making it significantly easier to navigate! The first page users see has easy to use links for quick access to trucking, commercial vehicles, travel or aeronautics which are all located on the right hand side. On the left hand side there are more specific options headed with “I want to . . . ” and followed by Get My Driver’s License, See Bidding Opportunities, Title or Register a Vehicle, View Web Cameras, Check Road Conditions, and Contact WYDOT. Underneath this the travel information number is boldly displayed so users who would rather call then navigate the site are accommodated. The website also directs users to the Wyoming state website by clicking on the Citizen, Business, or Government tab. If a user clicks on the Visitor tab the Wyoming tourism site is prompted.
There is also a general navigation bar in the top right corner that leads directly to information. The following links are provided by clicking on the 3 lines located to the right of Navigation:
Drivers License and Records
Titles, Plates, and Registration
Economic Stimulus Projects
News and Information
Business with WYDOT
Engineering and Technical Programs
Manuals and Publications
Wyoming Highway Patrol
Vehicle Business Regulation
For users who have specific content they are searching for there is a convenient search bar, indicated by a magnifying glass in the upper right corner next to Navigation. Next to the search bar there is a most helpful site map so users are able to locate exactly what they are looking for. Each header listed under Navigate is broken down into subtitles such as Locations and Testing. This new website design is optimized so any user can find exactly what they need without trouble. The best feature of this site is the link to see road conditions. Since it is on the first page there is no need to fumble around trying to find it. With the often scary weather that settles on the Summit, this tool is great for people commuting through Wyoming on I-80. The easy access to the Web Cameras is great too. Users are able to see exactly what the roads look like and make an informed decision about traveling.
