How to Lookup Any West Virginia License Plate Number
1. Private databases purchase, organize, and sell information to consumers. These databases are run by private companies, not State or Federal government organizations. This is the easiest option for consumers looking for information because it involves the least amount of work.
Our sponsors are an example of a private database that sells information. Simply start your search by typing a license plate number in the search field on the right.
2. Another option is to request the information from the state. For the state of West Virginia, the form you need is located here:

West Virginia DMV Resources
The West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is a standard website with all the information necessary for any questions you may have. Upon visiting the website I found that it was a very simple and easy to navigate website. The home page made it easy to find anything you may need.
It was comprised of four categories to automatically direct you to the services or information you need. Drivers Services, Vehicle Services, Motor Carrier Services, and Dealership Services were the four categories you can first choose from.
Underlining the main articles were all the individual services pertaining to that specific category. When you click on one of these four categories you are directly connected to what you need. After you are directed to your specific informational needs. There is also a very easy to understand side-bar that lets you see all the services provided, so in case you need information on more than one topic you can easily be directed to a new set of information with just one little click of your mouse.
The overall texts were standard font and the layout was clean and business professional. Making it easy to stay on topic, and not get distracted by annoying overdone side posts and awkward coloring that some other DMV websites have. Some of the most useful features probably consist of the forms, the insurance section, and the online vehicle registration service. The forms section makes it easy for you to print out whatever form you need. Other websites have this but this one has a directory link in all other informational categories whenever it mentions needing to fill out a form. It makes it much easier to get to so you don’t spend a long time looking at all the forms listed. The insurance section is a one-stop page for all the up to date rules, regulations, and laws, concerning insurance in the state of West Virginia. Finally the online Vehicle Registration Service is an easy to complete 5 to 10 minute application for vehicle registration. When your done you can actually print out a temporary tag until you receive your official one. The only thing that some may consider bad about this site is it’s lack of actual online features such as being able to make changes to your drivers license and the ability to submit forms directly to an online database.
